  • Hatha Yoga Beginner’s Class

      ** Yoga for energy and serenity **

    The ideal class for everyone looking for fitness and physical wellbeing – as an antidote to the strains of everyday life. The special combination of activating, energetic exercises and gentle, relaxing postures improves flexibility, endurance, serenity and inner balance. At the same time, the exercises trains mental focus and attention. This course is ideal to both build strength and increase the body’s natural defence against stress.

  • Hatha Vinyasa Flow

    ** Breathing movements **

    Hatha postures are performed with special emphasis on steady breathing and are linked together in sequences of movement flows. The variation of asanas is extended and supplemented by special breathing techniques (pranayama). Vinyasa Basic Flow energizes and relaxes body and soul.

  • Yin Yoga

    ** Gentle training with strong effect **

    Enjoy this calm and meditative-minded form of Hatha Yoga: All asanas are performed sitting or lying down. Yoga aids (bolsters, blocks, pillows) will support the body weight while relaxing in theses poses for a couple of minutes. Thus, connective tissue structures and the energy streams of the body are gently stimulated, maximising the soothing and relaxing effects.

    Exercises designed for stress-relief and relaxation will  counterbalance physical tension from work load and help to regain your inner balance.       Yoga is where your mat is…

Four days at four locations:    We offer classes  mondays – wednesdays  at our four centres across Hamburg: Eimsbüttel, Hoheluft, Harvestehude and Altona; additionally, those classes are streamed online as well. Thursdays “Yoga@Home” is taught exclusively for online participants via Zoom.

Yoga@Home via live video transmission:   If a studio visit is not possible or desired, we also offer online-classes Yoga@Home.  You can easily join from home or wherever you are,  using Zoom via your computer or tablet; you’re requested to stay visible via your camera. Our YogaYatra Online Studio has two cameras and an extra large screen monitor. This way, the undivided attention is focused on all participating online yogis who have rolled out their mat in front of the camera.

Small groups:     Group size is  limited to ensure optimal support and clear, individualized guidance from our experienced trainers and to follow the covid19-rules.

Health Prevention:   YogaYatra is a certified provider of courses for health promotion and stress relief. All classes are approved as health prevention courses and have a duration of ten weeks. Your health insurance company covers up to 80 per cent of the participation fee.

I am Renate Gritschke, owner of YogaYatra and your Yoga teacher;  I am trained in Iyengar Yoga® and I am a certified Laban dance&movement teacher.

Before shifting my professional focus to yoga, I worked for many years as a dance teacher (for modern, jazz &  tap dance), business manager and production manager in the musical entertainment business.  I realized early that my own regular yoga practice was the key to bringing balance into my life and to building the strength necessary to face the daily challenges of life.  All of these experiences influence today my teaching at YogaYatra.

I hold a 500 h-Intermediate Certificate in Iyengar Yoga® and received fundaments for my yoga knowledge from Clé Souren and his team at Iyengar Yoga Center Amsterdam. I regularly attend international workshops and masterclasses to deepen my experiences.
Amongst my most influential teachers I would like to thank for sharing their knowledge: Jason Crandell (Teacher Training Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga;  MasterClass Art of Sequencing, MasterClass Injury Management),  Jason Crandell & Dr. Paul B.
